Bringing Science to Life

School Information

Two female sixth-graders work with two female first-grader on a science project.

At John F. Kennedy School, sixth-grade students recently brought science to life for their first-grade buddies during a special hands-on learning day. After completing their first three science units, the older students chose a favorite topic to explore in greater detail. They created engaging PowerPoint presentations and fun experiments to share with the younger students, transforming the classroom into a space filled with excitement and discovery.

The first graders were thrilled to learn from their sixth-grade mentors, who stepped confidently into the role of teachers and scientists. This event not only deepened the older students’ understanding of science but also sparked curiosity and joy in the younger learners. It was a proud moment of collaboration, creativity, and community at BIE!
