Special Education
John F. Kennedy Day School’s special education program supports students with special needs, including physical, emotional and learning disabilities. We use strategies and resources that help students reach their potential. Our special education teachers identify challenges early and quickly develop effective educational plans, ensuring students receive the academic services and accommodations needed to progress alongside their classmates.
Individualized Education Plans
Our special education teachers collaborate with parents/guardians to create Individualized Education Plans that address each student’s unique needs. Involving parents/guardians is crucial to developing effective strategies. We document and monitor IEP outcomes to ensure they effectively support student success.
Parent/Guardian Partnerships
Strong school-family partnerships and open communication lead to new ideas and better student support. We offer services that address each student's mental, physical, social and emotional needs. Special education teachers apply proven strategies to enhance classroom learning and ensure students’ progress smoothly throughout the year.
At John F. Kennedy Day School, parents/guardians, teachers and specialists work together to support every student’s progress. The special education program helps students overcome physical, emotional or learning challenges, guiding them toward academic achievement and readiness for the next grade.
