Overview
At John F. Kennedy Day School, we provide a supportive and nurturing learning environment for kindergarten through eighth-grade students to thrive academically and socially. Our students enjoy a safe, clean and comfortable campus where they can become critical thinkers and leaders of tomorrow. We empower students through various academic programs, services, activities and curricula.
21st Century Program
21st-century Programs provide students with additional learning opportunities outside of the classroom and regular school hours. Learning centers are established throughout the community where students can participate in various activities across many industries and disciplines. The 21st-century Programs are a source of academic enrichment for students interested in math, science, art, music, telecommunications and advanced technologies.
After-School Tutoring
John F. Kennedy Day School faculty and staff offer tutoring services for students who need help maintaining their passing grades. Students needing help with classwork or homework can make arrangements with specific teachers, staff members or specialists ready to assist. With our academic support and tutoring services, students can stay on track, advance to the next level and graduate with their classmates.
Computers
Cardinals learn about the computer technologies of today and tomorrow. Our computer programs equip students with the essential computer skills they will use throughout their academic and professional careers. Introducing students to various computer fields and subjects prepares them for life in the 21st century. The John F. Kennedy Day School curriculum offers valuable exposure and hands-on tutorials in computer sciences.
Athletic/PE Programs
Athletic and P.E. programs develop our students’ minds, bodies and spirits. Students can stay physically fit, increase confidence and self-esteem, and build character throughout their participation. John F. Kennedy Day School unites in support of our student-athletes during the sports seasons, strengthening school spirit and community bonding.
Student Responsibilities
John F. Kennedy Day School student life offers a variety of opportunities to learn, grow and prepare for high school, college and beyond. Students must advocate for themselves and stay informed about their academic progress. Student life also comes with responsibilities and obligations outlined in the student handbook and consequences for violating school policy. We expect students to be in school daily, and written documentation should be provided to excuse absences. Teachers should also be informed about any impending absences.
Parental Involvement
A successful student life involves the participation of parents/guardians in the learning process. At John F. Kennedy Day School, we are committed to creating a holistic, well-rounded, comprehensive educational experience for all students. Parents and guardians actively support their students’ success by attending parent-teacher conferences and school board meetings, volunteering and checking student homework, literacy and attendance.
