Family Involvement
Family Involvement at John F Kennedy Day School
TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
We encourage families to actively participate in their child(ren)'s education. Family involvement improves academic performance, develops social/emotional skills and helps educators monitor and maintain student progression. John F. Kennedy Day School presents many opportunities for family involvement:
- Attend parent-teacher conferences and meetings.
- Volunteer your time (classroom, library, special events, athletics).
- Join our parent organization — PAC.
- Participate in school-wide activities.
- Attend IEP meetings for students receiving special education services.
- Volunteer to referee any of our 5th/6th or 7th/8th grade sporting events.
- Attend our scheduled family nights.
Open communication between the student, the teacher, and the family is critical for students to reach their maximum potential. Families can stay connected and informed through the school website, calendar updates, newsletters, parent-teacher conferences, and school board meetings. Good communication increases family involvement in school.
